Nutrition is important for health

What Makes Peak Health Clinic Different?

At Peak Health Clinic, we get results with patients that have already seen a medical doctor, been through physical therapy, or been treated by another chiropractor and not received their desired results.  We take a holistic (looking at how the body functions as a whole) approach to health that utilizes a variety of therapeutic techniques, personalized rehabilitation exercises, heel lifts and orthopedic, and lifestyle changes to correct the body's weaknesses, imbalances, and deficiencies.

Current medical research has proven that an integrated health care approach involving muscle and joint manipulation, rehabilitation, and therapeutic exercises offers patients the most effective and long-lasting results.

Our services provide you with tools to help bring balance and restore function to your whole body.  But don't take our word for it. Read what our patients have to say.

Chiropractic

Chiropractic care focuses on the relationship between the spine and nervous system and their interaction with the rest of the body. Through low-force adjustments which ensures the spine and nervous system are functioning properly, we utilize the body's natural ability to heal itself. Chiropractic focuses on the prevention of disease and the restoration of health without the use of drugs or surgery. We use manual therapy and treatment plans that can safely care for everyone from newborn to the elderly. Therapeutic Massage

Our trained massage therapists offers the perfect complement to Chiropractic care. Therapeutic massage involves the manipulation of the soft tissue structures of the body to prevent and alleviate pain, discomfort, muscle spasm, and stress. In conjunction with Chiropractic care, Massage therapy improves functioning of the circulatory, lymphatic, muscular, skeletal, and nervous systems and may improve the rate at which the body recovers from injury and illness. Muscular Rehabilitation

To maintain the spinal correction provided by chiropractic adjustments, it is crucial to incorporate muscular re-education and rehabilitation. Dr. Davenport will prescribe specific exercises that will correct muscle imbalances and provide stabilization to the spine and pelvis. Thus improving function and performance by strengthening weak or injured muscles.

Nutrition and Exercise Counseling

An estimated 70% of the population currently supplements their diets with some form of nutritional products. However, most people don't understand if and how these supplements are benefiting them. We can help you understand and implement an optimal nutrition diet that will keep you healthy.

We strongly recommend some form of physical activity as an important strategy to help you reach your peak health. Dr. Davenport has been helping people to lose weight and improve their athletic performance for over ten years. He brings his experience as a personal trainer and his education in exercise and sport science and nutrition to customize a program to help patients achieve their goals. Physiotherapy

We use therapeutic exercise and the application of modalities to restore or facilitate normal function to the body.

  • Intersegmental Traction is a relaxing massage roller table that helps to maintain motion between each vertebral segment of the spine.
  • Therapeutic Percussion is a treatment modality that increases blood and lymphatic circulation for those individuals who suffer from muscle pain.
  • LED Light Therapy is a technology that has been used to effectively treat myofascial pain, inflammation, edema, wounds, range of motion deficits, and peripheral neurotherapies.
  • Far Infrared Mineral Therapy emits energy in the infrared spectrum to provide topical heating for the temporary relief and relaxation of minor muscle and joint stiffness. The heat generated is constant and very soothing to muscles and joints.
  • Heat and Ice Therapy are used to increase or decrease blood flow to an area to alleviate muscle spasm, relax tense muscles, relieve pain and increase range of motion.

Digital X-rays

Digital Imaging is the most cutting-edge technology in today’s x-rays. Digital Imaging provides improved patient care. The range of the digital receptor allows discovery of pathologies that may not be found with other x-ray systems. This provides a better diagnostic tool for an immediate and precise diagnosis.  At the same time, the short exposure time and reduction in re-takes increases patient safety because the radiation dose is limited by as much as one-third, without sacrificing image quality. Direct digital imaging is nearly instantaneous speeding up the examination time. The image is ready to view within seconds and can be sent instantly to other health care providers or placed on CD or DVD for future review.

What to Expect on Your First Visit

On your first visit to Peak Health Clinic you can expect a detailed consultation with Dr. Davenport to obtain your medical history and determine your health goals. This will be followed by a comprehensive exam that will evaluate joint motion/function, muscle function, and determine your overall level of health. X-rays may be taken to better assess what is happening inside your body.

The first visit takes about an hour and patients are asked to arrive on time to fill out paperwork.

On your following visit, Dr. Davenport will discuss with you your condition and recommend a customized treatment plan with different options that will meet your individual needs and goals. Treatment is always based on a mutual agreement between the doctor and patient and you are in control of how long your care will last.

Each subsequent visit usually is about 30 minutes consisting of soft tissue work, chiropractic adjustments, a review of prescribed nutrition and exercises, and physiotherapy.
